What Does Your Sharpening Cut Mean?

Your cut (also called radius of hollow) controls how much your edges bite into the ice:

3/8” – 7/16” → Maximum Grip

• Strong edge bite for tight turns and quick acceleration
• Ideal for lighter players or those who want maximum control

1/2” – 9/16” → Balanced Performance

         The most popular range

• Great mix of control, stability, and speed
• Perfect for most hockey players

5/8” – 11/16” → Maximum Glide

• Ideal for heavier or more powerful skaters

⚡ What Are Sparx FIRE Cuts?

We also offer Sparx FIRE sharpening rings, designed to give you extra glide without losing grip.
